Architectural Advisory

Development, whether retail, office, industrial or mixed-use, will fall short if it is not cohesive with surrounding buildings and if it does not add amenity the local area. Potential occupiers and visitors will also be detracted if the spatial arrangement is contrary to efficient design principles and expected industry specifications. Further, lenders may dismiss your bank finance request if they see your conceptual design as flawed.

Forton’s in-house Architect can save you from such problematic design implications. We understand local and international building requirements, standards and quality benchmarks for office, industrial and retail buildings. We keep up-to-date with the provisions of the Spatial Territorial Act and related sub-delegated legislation. We also have access to the masterplans of regional cities and towns.

For your project, we will break down the review process into two parts:

1. Review of the premise’s architectural design - A check for compliance with urban spatial requirements, fire safety and hygiene rules. Then we match your architectural and functional solutions against the industry standards. At this stage, we recommend options for improving your building in terms of design and best utility.

2. Analysis of the installations – Examination of the technical fitness of your building. We cover electro-technical, heating and air conditioning, water supply, sewage installations and energy efficiency aspects.
